Position Overview Access Institute seeks a dynamic, experienced professional to join its leadership team as Director of Doctoral Training (DDT). The DDT is responsible for overseeing all activities related to the operation of The Doctoral Internship (APA accredited). The DDT oversees the trainee experience from orientation to graduation and coordinates all aspects of their training, including, individual and group supervision, coursework, clinical placements, and professional development. The DDT is responsible for curriculum development and implementation; recruitment, retention, and oversight of adjunct faculty and supervisors; teaching 1-2 seminars per training year; providing individual supervision, outreach to the community in marketing the training program to prospective applicants; and managing the trainee application and selection processes.
The DDT is a licensed Clinical Psychologist who works as a member of the clinical supervisory team, consulting with them to ensure that trainees meet relevant competencies. The DDT, with the support of administrative staff, oversees the maintenance of trainee records, monitors licensing board requirements, and is responsible for updating training-related policies and procedures as needed. The DDT works closely with the Director of Fellowship Training, Access Institute’s post-graduate training program, and works to ensure that Access Institute’s training programs respond and adapt to evolving training needs. The DDT is a member of Access Institute’s leadership team and collaborates with the Executive Director (ED) in matters related to strategic planning, fund development, and general clinic operations. The DDT reports to the ED.

Required qualifications • Commitment to Access Institute’s mission and to the cause of affordable, accessible mental health care • Licensed Psychologist with five years of clinical experience, post-licensure • Completion of Board of Psychology and Board of Behavioral Sciences requirements for supervision of trainees • Experience with supervision and training of mental health interns and/or postgraduate trainees • Experience with development and implementation of mental health training programs • Excellent administrative and organizational skills • Strong communication, relationship-building and leadership skills • Knowledge of and sensitivity to issues of diversity, especially regarding race, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, culture, language, and gender
Preferred qualifications • Experience working psychoanalytically in a community health setting • Teaching experience • Psychological assessment experience • Experience working at an APA internship site • Experience working with and supporting discussions around the impact of power and difference on training and clinical practice
