We offer low and no-fee psychological services to those who want and need psychological support, but aren’t able to access it for any number of reasons including: income, cultural barriers, stigma around mental health, and lack of mobility.
We offer services to individuals, couples, children and families on a sliding scale basis. We provide services for as long as you need them.
Our psychological assessment batteries are individually designed, based on client need, and utilize the most advanced tests in order to uncover all possible sources of a problem.
Psychiatry services are available for patients receiving therapy services at the clinic.
Our Community Programs
In-School Mental Health Program
We work with children, families, and teachers in seven public elementary schools in San Francisco.
We work with elders at Bayview Hunter's Point Adult Day Health Center, meeting people where they are.
Our Training Program
Access Institute’s nationally-recognized training program prepares the next generation of mental health professionals for careers in community mental health. We build a supportive community of peers and professionals to strengthen each individual's growth and education. Our Fellows are taught by contemporary thinkers who have evolved psychoanalytic practice in meaningful ways.
Access Institute changed my life. I was married to a violent man and hated my job. I was young, overwhelmed by anxiety, on the verge of bankruptcy, and very depressed. Through my interactions with Access Institute, I was able to identify my strengths, leave my abusive relationship and find a new job that I like. Thank you to all who make it possible for me to afford care."
