Sam Tucker is a dedicated volunteer psychiatrist with over 12 years of service at The Access Institute. He completed his psychiatric residency at UCSF and earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) in international health from Tulane University. With a strong background in public health, Sam found a meaningful outlet for his passion through his work with Access, particularly after retiring from his general psychiatry practice.

Originally from Southern California, Sam has long been committed to both psychiatry and public service. In addition to his professional achievements, he is an avid reader, adventure traveler, gardener, and history enthusiast. Sam currently resides in San Francisco with his partner of over 20 years.
